About uACT

The campaign for universal Access to Counselling and psychoTherapy (uACT) is working for fundamental change in the provision and funding of support for people experiencing emotional suffering and distress.

We are campaigning for people to have free access to a wide range of counselling and psychotherapy in the NHS, the community, schools, and colleges. We want services to be led by the needs of clients and local communities, and for people to have real choices rather than the current monopoly of short-term behavioural therapies.

We want psychological services to work with individuals and communities, respecting their existing resources and emotional wisdom, with therapists and community workers funded to support local mental health initiatives.
